Hurricane Ian
Our church incurred substantial damage from hurricane Ian. The,100 mph plus, wind driven rain came in. This ruined the drywall and insulation on parts of the ceiling in the church and the reading room. The water also soaked much of the carpet, and some of the pews in the church edifice.
Reconstruction has begun
After many months of dealing with the insurance company, attorneys, public adjusters, and the building department, we have finally found a wonderful contractor and work is progressing at a rapid pace. Below are some pictures of the progress along with the original ones of the hurricane damage.
We expect the church restoration process to be complete in time to resume Sunday Services in November 2024 at 10:30 AM which will continue through May 2025. In the meantime, we are holding informal meetings in the Sunday School which holds up to approximately 20 people. Please come and join us, it would mean a lot to see you!

Informal services during the summer
While many people go back north for the summer, those who remaining are meeting every Sunday in the Sunday school room at 10:30am to hold an informal service. We take turns reading a section from the full text. We sing hymns while being accompanied by recorded music. The scriptural selection, hymns, and benediction are down loaded from The Mother Church, to round out the service. If you are in Englewood on Sunday, come join us.
